API Hacker

bitly is seeking an enthusiastic and talented API hacker to join our platform team. You’ll be helping to make the bitly APIs an awesome resource for developers and partners. You’ll get to work with a talented team of engineers and data scientists to make the social web a more insightful and engaging place!

This is a fulltime role in our NYC office, and will include some travel.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain official bitly libraries for our API
• Push the bitly API forward by developing new features and capabilities
• Evangelize our API at hackathons and other developer-centric events
• Work with developers integrating bitly into their products

Qualifications:

• You can write code in at least one server-side programming language (Python, Ruby, C, etc.)
• You are enthusiastic about the power of the social web, and excited to share it with others
• You can explain complex technical concepts
• You’re curious about the world and excited to learn new things
